Rosemary
Ready to harvest

Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) is an evergreen, drought tolerant, needle-leaved Mediterranean shrub with a pungent, resinous flavour. It is a great pollinator and keeps its scent all year round.
What it's used for
Rosemary sprigs can be used fresh or dried in classic dishes such as roasts, potatoes and focaccia. The woody stems can be used as skewers for kebabs.
Grow your own at home
Rosemary grows best in free-draining soil and a sunny, sheltered spot. It can become woody with age and may need some protection in colder areas of the UK.
It’s best sown from cuttings in soil or containers; the seed is slow to germinate and cultivate.
You can pick sprigs of rosemary all year round.
