St Mary’s Church

This area was established in 2025 in partnership with the church after we were kindly offered space to grow by the local reverend. There are two planting areas here, one on the raised area next to Burnley Road roundabout and another, smaller area close to the church’s main entrance. The beds here were kindly made for us by Chris and Jackie Ackland.

There is level, step free access from the street via a ramp to the raised beds near to The Crypt entrance. These beds are 24 inches high from the pavement. There is a good amount of space around the beds for access, though space in between them is limited. Seating is available in this area if you need to take a break.

Beds at the side of the church near the main entrance can also be accessed step free, though this area is a mix of cobble and grass and the ground is slightly uneven. The beds here are 28 inches high and can be accessed from all sides. Signage in this area is due to be replaced soon.
