The Recovery Beds
These beds were originally developed in cooperation with a Rochdale women’s support group, then repaired by a Halifax Recovery organisation and adopted by IET who now look after them. The area was once problematic, but it is now a pleasant area where the cafe barge sometimes moors up.
The original walling here was done by IET volunteer John Mounsey (of wicker coffin fame and star of the film ‘The Zen Art of Stone Squeezing’).

Access Information
Access to this area is via the canal. This area can be accessed step free, but the area around the beds is cobbled and gravelled with a downwards incline to access the beds. The planting area is a large raised bed approximately 18 inches high which is accessible from one side. Signage in this area is due to be replaced soon.
