Pollination Street
Established in 2011, this area is now very much a focal point for the town and is recognised as the unofficial town green where lots of community events take place.
The site was originally a derelict building site, fenced off and up for sale by the council. IET asked the community about what they wanted. The council partly agreed to what the IET consultation had produced, took the fence down and laid a path. IET planting followed.
The name is, of course, in homage to Coronation Street, and the sign came about due to typical IET cheekiness. Someone phoned the council and said that a street sign was missing (even though it wasn’t) – and one for Pollination Street was duly supplied!

Access Information
There is level, step free access from the street though this area is currently being redeveloped by Todmorden Town Council and access may be more difficult. Planting here is predominantly at ground level with one slightly raised bed (approximately 6” high) in the centre of the area. Picking stones are in place to allow easier access into the growing area. Signage in this area is due to be replaced soon.
